Prison ministry - are jail house conversions genuine?

The easy answer is, some are and some aren't. One clue to the possibility of true conversion is an inmate's change in behavior. Being a Christian in prison is difficult. When a person accepts Christ often the other prisoners give him a hard time. So soon the validity of the conversion becomes evident. Because prison is a violent place, the willingness to live and speak differently despite the cost, speaks rather convincingly. Prisoner can be saved just like anyone else, but often are more open to the Gospel than others, because they are in most case most cases not going to deny their sinfulness. What do you think? Share your thoughts on prison ministry with others.
